This
in one of those weeks that has just sucked a bit of the light out of my world.
Milan is so rainy and gloomy so I’ve done a fair amount of cocooning in my
apartment (and praying nightly for summer to come faster!) So while I’ve been
tucked away at home, my entertainment has consisted of movies, FaceTime dates
with my friends, catching up on Scandal! and watching these viral videos over
and over.
1. VIDEO: T-Mobile Welcome Back
This video made my life (and, I bet, the lives of the 13m other viewers who’ve seen it!) My heart literally melted in my chest. Just imagine a massive crowd of musicians welcoming you back home after a 10-hour red-eye in economy. I just loved the looks on the passengers’ faces – delight, surprise, appreciation. I literally had a lump in my throat by the end.
2. VIDEO: Coca Cola ATM gives free moneyThe thought that stayed with me after seeing this video was “human beings are fundamentally good”. We extend kindness to others, and are willing to share our god fortune and happiness. Generosity really does pay itself forward.
3. VIDEO: Michelle Obama & Jimmy Fallon – The Evolution of Mom Dancing
This video is just fun. Michelle does a pretty decent job of “The Go Shopping, Get Groceries” and a pretty involved “Just the Hands Part of Single Ladies” (laugh out loud!). I love that she doesn’t take herself too seriously and, in these vids, she just seems like a really fun person to know (and go to a party with!)
The purpose of these little videos of Michelle’s are to get kids exercising more and leading more active lives as part of her Let’s Move! campaign. Let’s Move is an initiative Michelle Obama launched dedicated to solve the problem of childhood obesity in America. It takes the 2-pronged approach of healthy eating combined with fun exercise.
